WANTS : GRATE (INSERT) WANTED
Existing cast iron coal grate for Late Victorian/Edwardian fireplace has broken into pieces and am finding it very difficult to source a replacement. It has a curved front with lugs at either end to slide into the slots behind the front grate. The back section is moulded with a pair of shallow protrusions to hold it in position. It is part of a cast iron fire surround in a 1901 Mansion Block in Highgate, London. It needs to be exact size as it slots in behind lift out curved front fire grate. Overall dimensions 375mm (14.75 inches)wide x 175mm (6.88 inches) deep. Overall dimensions: angled sides 125mm long (5 inches), back 295mm wide (11.63 inches).
